Description
TRIUMF is comprised of the 520 MeV Cyclotron facility and the Isotope Separator and ACcelerator (ISAC) facilities, in addition to the upcoming Advanced Rare Isotope Laboratory (ARIEL) and Institute for Advanced Medical Isotopes (IAMI) facilities. To continue managing reliability across an expanding and aging complex spanning a wide range of technical and service groups, TRIUMF has transitioned from in-house developed, disconnected work management tools to a single integrated Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). With an asset inventory estimated at 15,000 and growing, the goals of this transition are to consolidate work and asset data into one common platform, reduce downtime, and establish a dataset capable of supporting long-term reliability and regulatory compliance. An overview of the integrated system now in place at TRIUMF will be presented, along with a description of the transition from a user’s perspective. The challenges encountered during rollout, in relation to data quality, inter-group coordination, and worker engagement, will be discussed alongside the improvements underway and what we aim to achieve at full implementation. It is hoped that this experience will be of value to other facilities navigating similar changes.
