Welcome to Aomori City, Japan

If this is your first time visiting Japan, we are delighted to welcome you—and even more so to introduce you to Aomori City, a beautiful and culturally rich destination in northern Japan.

About Aomori City

Aomori City is the capital of Aomori Prefecture, located at the northern tip of Japan’s main island (Honshu). It is a relaxed coastal city known for its fresh seafood and walkable waterfront. The city has a population of around 260,000 (2025 estimate). The Nebuta Festival, held in August, is particularly famous and attracts more than three million visitors during the event.

Our workshop will take place in mid‑November, which is late autumn, but if possible, we hope you will consider extending your stay either before or after the workshop to explore the region. If you come beforehand, you may be able to enjoy the autumn foliage at its peak.
