Description
Over the years, the ALBA Synchrotron RF system has undergone significant upgrades to maximize beam availability and minimize downtime. Key reliability improvements include the transition from Thales to L3 IOTs, the integration of Co-stubs for rapid mode switching, the deployment of an active RF Trip Compensation system, the installation of a solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) in the booster, and the development of advanced tuning scripts and GUIs. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of these implementations, highlighting their operational mechanics and demonstrating their positive impact on the overall Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
