Description

After a shutdown, returning the MAX IV storage rings to operation requires coordinated checks and approvals from several technical groups. A new start-up workflow has been implemented in J5, allowing checklists and approvals to be collected and followed in one place.
Once a ring is ready for injection, an updated Validation App is used to check the machine at different validation stages. The app automatically reads accelerator parameters, compares them with predefined tolerances, and presents the results clearly to the operator. Completed validations are published automatically to the electronic logbook, while machine parameters and tolerances are version controlled. The application has reduced the time needed for routine validation and can also be used at any time to quickly check the main operating parameters of the storage rings.
