Description

We have developed a new tool to give a real-time quantitative measurement of the overall health of the three large linear accelerators at SLAC: LCLS NC, LCLS SC, and FACET-II. This tool, called "Greenhome", reports the percentage of EPICS alarm severities in each state (major, minor, and no alarm). The values are accessible on a control system display and archived to track the trend. This data motivates fixes to small problems that may be affecting performance but are not preventing operation, and also leads to alarm system improvements to reduce nuisance alarms.
