Description
This poster will present the planned transformation of First Line Diagnostics (FLD), an internal fault-finding tool used by ISIS Operations to support faster fault diagnosis and reduce lost time.
FLD currently uses step-by-step fault-finding flowcharts to help operators diagnose equipment faults, resolve issues where possible, and identify when advice or support from equipment owners and engineers is required.
Over time, changes to ISIS equipment, the loss of the original development team and limitations of the legacy platform have made FLD increasingly difficult to maintain, with some existing entries no longer relevant.
The proposed ISIS Operations Wiki will build on this existing knowledge while providing a broader, more accessible and sustainable platform for Operations. It will use Microsoft SharePoint to make operational information and fault-finding guidance easier to access, develop and maintain across the wider ISIS community.
The poster will explore the drivers for the transformation, the benefits of SharePoint and the challenge of keeping the Wiki current within the competing priorities of Operations, equipment owners and engineers. It will consider a future approach based on shared ownership, scheduled collaboration, a focused scope and integrating updates into existing work.
The aim will be to create a sustainable source of operational knowledge that supports faster fault recovery and helps reduce ISIS lost time.
